アラモアナ公園で樹木への落書き被害が発生

 オアフ島アラモアナ地区にあるアラモアナ公園内の樹木約20本が落書き被害を受ける事件が発生し、当局が調査を進めている。 公園利用者のひとりは「木々への落書き被害は今年の1月から見られるようになり、公園管理者が落書きの除去作業などを行ったりしていますが、落書きを完全に消し去ることはできていません。どの樹木も樹齢何年にもなり歴史のあるものばかりで、このような事件が起こるのは残念でなりません」と語った。 当局によると、被害にあった樹木のうち2本は、「特別な樹木」としてホノルル市当局が条例に従って保護している樹木で、市当局ではホノルル警察に被害届を提出している。

2015年のプロボウルはアリゾナ州で開催

 オアフ島のアロハスタジアムで毎年開催されていたNFLのオールスター戦であるプロボウルが、2015年度はアリゾナ・カーディナルスの本拠地であるユニバーシティ・オブ・フェニックス・スタジアムで開催されることが明らかになった。 2015年プロボウルは、スーパーボウルXLIXの前週である2015年1月25日に開催される予定で、2月1日に開催されるスーパーボウルと同じスタジアムを使用することとなる。 なおNFL側は、2016年のプロボウルの開催場所はハワイ州になるとしているほか、2017年度の試合もハワイ州が開催場所になる可能性が高いとしている。
