 全米展開している大型ディスカウントショップのロス・ドレス・フォー・レスが、カウアイ島に島内初となる店舗をオープン予定であることが明らかになった。 今年中にオープン予定のロス・ドレス・フォー・レスのカウアイ島店は、以前シアーズがあったククイ・グローブ・センター内で、同センター内には、ロス・ドレス・フォー・レスのほか、スポーツ・オーソリティ、ピア1インポート、タコ・デルマーなどが入店している。 ロス・ドレス・フォー・レスは、オアフ島のモイリイリ地区に売り場面積30,000平方フィートの店舗を開業したばかりのほか、エヴァ地区にも新店舗をオープンしており、今回オープンが予定されているカウアイ島店は州内17店舗目となる。

 米地質調査局は昨日午後12時31分ごろ、マウイ島のワイルア地区周辺でマグニチュード3.1の微震を観測したと発表した。 当局は、昨日観測された微震の震源はワイルア地区の北西21マイル、カフルイ地区の東北東39マイルの地点で、震源の深さは21マイルだったとしている。
