Budget talks hit snag over construction spending

ハワイ島でヘビを捕獲

 ハワイ州当局は、ハワイ島ケアアウ地区にある商店にあった輸送容器内から、全長2フィートのヘビが発見されたと発表した。 輸送容器はカリフォルニア州からハワイ州内に持ち込まれたもので、当局では、カリフォルニア州で輸送容器内に紛れ込んだヘビがハワイ州まで輸送されてきたとみている。なお、発見されたヘビは発見者である商店関係者によって絶命している。 今回発見されたヘビは、北米各地で繁殖しているインディゴヘビで、ネズミやリスなどの齧歯類、ウサギ、爬虫類、鳥類などを主食とし、全長最大7メートルになるとされている。  ハワイ州ではヘビが繁殖しておらず、万が一違法に州内に持ち込まれたヘビが繁殖した場合には、ハワイ州内の自然形態に重大な影響を及ぼす可能性が高いため、州当局では、州内への持込が禁止されているヘビなどを発見、捕獲した場合には、速やかに当局に通報して欲しいと呼びかけている。

 ハワイに拠点をおくハンバーガーショップのテディーズ・ビガー・バーガーズが、テキサス州に新店舗をオープンすることが明らかになった。 テディーズ・ビガー・バーガーズでは今回、フランチャイズ契約で店舗の拡張を実施しており、テキサス州のフォートワース地区に2店舗をオープンするとしている。 ハワイ州内で8店舗を営業しているテディーズ・ビガー・バーガーズは現在、アメリカ本土に3店舗、日本に1店舗を展開しており、今後、フランチャイズ契約などでさらなる出店数増加を目指したいとしている。
