 Budget Travelによる「全米一かっこいいい小さな町」ランキングで、ハワイ島パホアが候補のひとつに選出されている。 今回のランキングには、パホアを含む全米15の町が選出されており、Budget Travelでは、2月25日(火)まで利用者からの投票を受け付けている。なお、パホアは現在投票率1.2%で、第13位にランクインしている。

 ハワイの大手航空会社であるハワイアン航空は、ターボプロップ機を利用する新路線「オハナ・バイ・ハワイアン」の就航を発表した。 オハナ・バイ・ハワイアンでは、3月11日(火)よりホノルルとモロカイ島を結ぶ定期便を毎日3便、3月18日(火)よりホノルルとラナイ島を結ぶ定期便を毎日2便運行する予定で、現在、モロカイ線、ラナイ線の就航を記念した格安航空券を販売している。片道$59の格安航空券は2月17日までに購入する必要があり、利用可能期間は4月17日までとなっている。 なお、新路線の運行を行っているのは、アイダホ州に拠点をおくエンパイア航空だが、ハワイアン航空が予約や航空券の販売等のサービスを管理しており、オハナ・バイ・ハワイアンの利用でもハワイアン航空のマイルを貯める事ができる。
