 ハワイ州のニール・アバクロンビー知事は昨日、ハワイ州とオアフ島のタートルベイリゾート間で土地の売買交渉が成立し、タートルベイの665.8エーカーの土地を州が保有することになったと発表した。 ハワイ州では今回、タートルベイの土地を4,850万ドルで購入。購入した土地は将来的な再開発などを認めない保護地区として当局によって管理されることとなる。 なおタートルベイリゾート側は、リゾート海側に広がる150エーカーの土地を活用し、今後、625の客室を有するホテル2棟と100件の住宅を建設するとしている。

 オアフ島アラモアナ地区にある老舗ホテルのパゴダホテルが創業50周年を迎え、様々なスペシャルを提供すると発表した。 パゴダホテルでは今回、5月2日(金)~5日(月)の6:30~13:00に、ホテル内にあるパゴダ・フローティング・レストランで50セントのパンケーキを提供するほか、5日(月)には、ブレッシングやバースデーケーキの提供などが行われる祝賀イベントを開催するとしている。 このほか同ホテルでは、6月30日(月)までのホテルの宿泊予約を行ったハワイ在住者に対し、1泊目の宿泊料金を$50オフとするスペシャルを実施しているほか、4月中に宿泊したゲストは、ラスベガス旅行が当たる抽選会に参加することができる。なお、ラスベガス旅行の当選者は、5日のイベントで発表される。
