 オアフ島のアロハスタジアム駐車場で開催されるハワイ・ステート・フェアでの催しに参加する予定の灰色熊(grizzly bears)が、ハワイ州当局の検疫を無事に通過したことが明らかになった。 ハワイ州の農林水産局職員は、灰色熊はすべての検疫テストにパスしたほか健康状態も良好で、快適にハワイでの時間を過ごしていると話したほか、熊の飼育者も「熊は我々の子どものような存在で、熊はもちろん、私達や一般の人々にも迷惑をかけるような事態が発生して欲しくはないし、そういう事態になることもないでしょう」とコメントしている。 毎年大人気のハワイ・ステート・フェアは、今日(5月23日・金)から7月6日(日)まで開催される。
