 1990年代に閉館していたラナイ島のラナイ劇場の再開発が進められており、今年度末までに新しい劇場が開館する予定となっている。 二棟の施設からなるラナイ劇場は、完成時には60名まで収容できる小型のシアターと、100名分の座席を有する大型のシアターとなる予定で、シアターには最新のデジタル音響システムなどが導入されるほか、二棟のシアターの中間には、1930年代のラナイ島の様子を再現したアーチ型の入り口やドーマー窓を有するチケットオフィスや売店も建設される予定となっている。 ラナイ島は2012年6月に島の大部分をオラクル社の最高経営責任者であるラリー・エリソン氏が3億ドルで購入。現在、エリソン氏が数百万ドルを投じての再開発計画を進めている。
