全米の確定申告(タックスリターン)の締切日である今日15日に、州内28の郵便局では、郵便局の営業時間を延長して対応にあたっている。 州内でもっとも遅くまで営業を行うのは、ホノルル空港の郵便局で、今日の午後8時まで利用することができる。そのほかの27の郵便局では、郵便局カウンターの営業時間は通常通りとなっているものの、営業時間終了後も郵便局外にオレンジのサインで「Tax Mail Drop」と書いたドロップボックスが設置され、深夜12時に最終ピックアップが行われる。ただしTax Mail Dropと書かれたドロップボックス以外のピックアップは通常通りとなっているの注意が必要となっている。

ヘリコプターがアラモアナ・ビーチに不時着
昨日午後5時ごろ、オアフ島のアラモアナ・ビーチパークにヘリコプターが不時着する騒ぎがあった。ヘリコプターは午後5時45分ごろには再びアラモアナ・ビーチパークの不時着地点から飛び立っており、不時着による怪我人などは確認されていない。 昨日のヘリコプター不時着の原因などは判明していないものの、ヘリコプターが不時着した際、周辺の上空には厚い雲がかかり、雨が降っていたため、悪天候が不時着の一因ではないかとみられている。
