ホノルル市民のエコカー購入率は全米7位
自動車購入サイトであるCars.comが発表した最新の調査結果で、ホノルル市内での電気自動車やハイブリッド自動車などのエコカー購入率が全米7位であることが明らかになった。 同サイトによると、全米でもっともエコカーの購入率が高かったのは、カリフォルニア州のサンフランシスコ・オークランド・サンノゼ地区で、次いでカリフォルニアのモントレー・サリナス地区、3位には同じくカリフォルニアのサンディエゴがランクインしている。また、第7位のハワイに次いでエコカーの購入率が高かったのはオハイオ州のリマ、次いでオレゴン州のメドフォード、カリフォルニア州のサクラメント・ストックトン・モデストとなっている。

コールドウェル市長が新歩道清掃法案を承認
ホノルル市のカーク・コールドウェル市長は昨日、当局によるホノルル市内の歩道に放置されている個人の所有物の即時撤去を認める新法案を承認した。なお、新法案の本格施行は今年7月からとなっている。 ホノルル市内では今回の新法案が承認されるまで、市内の歩道に放置されているテントや家具などを含む個人の所有物を当局側が強制撤去する際には、持ち物の所有者に対し24時間の猶予を与えるとしていたものの、今回承認された新法案では、放置アイテムの即時撤去が認められている。
