 今年12月14日(日)に開催されるホノルルマラソンの早期登録受付がスタートしており、1月6日(月)〜19日(日)までは、登録料金が1人$55となる割引料金が設定されている。 ホノルルマラソンの登録料金は、マラソン開催日が近づくにつれて値上げされるシステムとなっており、通常のオンライン登録のスタートは4月からとなっている。

オアフ島の一部で雹を観測

 米気象庁は、ハワイ諸島周辺の上空の気圧が不安定となっており、昨日はオアフ島のカイルア地区やハワイカイ地区で雹が観測されたと発表した。 オアフ島ウインドワード地区の住民のひとりは「雷が鳴り始めたので、空の写真を撮影していました。それから雨が降り出し、風が強くなったと感じた直後にパチパチと音が聞こえ、豆粒サイズの雹が屋外のパティオに落下してきました」と語り、同地区で雹を見るのは約2年ぶりだったものの、今回の雹は前回に比べて小粒だったとしている。 なお、当局では火曜から水曜にかけて天候は回復する兆しがあるとしているものの、今後も気圧が不安定な状況が続くこともあり、その場合には、水曜日までに雷雨や豪雨になる地域がでる可能性もあるとしている。
